Welcome!

I'm Christine Bennetts LCSW, PMH-C

I am a perinatal mental health therapist and specialize in helping parents feel prepared, healthy, and ready to regain some control as they approach motherhood.

I know the journey to motherhood is not always easy, and I’m here to help you find a path forward.

I know that while this time can be wonderful, it also can bring about unexpected changes in your sense of self and in your relationships. It’s not uncommon to be blindsided by overwhelming emotions or responses to situations that used to feel manageable or enjoyable. I am here to help you navigate those changes, support you in times of vulnerability, and help restore your emotional well-being. I am knowledgeable about the unique challenges of this phase in life, and I will work with you at your pace to achieve the goals we set for our work together.

About

I began my career as a hospital social worker working primarily in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), postpartum and high-risk maternity units, and pediatrics. Throughout my 20 years in this field, I was particularly drawn to working with women who struggled with the path to motherhood. I related to these women deeply. I found my time spent with these patients very rewarding, and perinatal mental health became my sole focus when I moved into private practice. Now my experience in the hospital often informs the work I do with clients. I work in-depth with my clients and sort through how they got to this point and how we move forward together. I am trained in evidence-based techniques such as EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which is used to address distressing or traumatic events that occurred in your life and continue to impact how you feel and respond to future events.

I am certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Densensitization and Reprocessing) and ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) for OCD.
