Warm, evidence-based infant feeding support

I help to make feeding your baby an enjoyable experience. When there are concerns about latch, pain, milk supply, breast or bottle refusal, I provide a gentle and thorough assessment. We will talk together about good options to help make feeding your baby easier and ensure their optimal growth. You will have access to a written care plan tailored to you and your baby’s needs and follow-up ability if more questions arise.

About

I have been helping families better enjoy feeding and nurturing their babies for about 7 years. My clinical internship was completed at UC Davis Medical Center known for its dedication to advancing breastfeeding research and support. I have also had the honor of serving as a La Leche League Leader volunteer with three different local groups for more than 5 years. I have a very soft spot in my heart for parents who find the need, or want to choose combination feeding, supplementing at breast, and/or bottle feeding for their baby. Sometimes we know what taking care of our baby will look like ahead of time, but many times we are surprised by unforeseen situations. Part of my job is to empower parents and help identify ways to maximize your goals.

Hear from my families

What a difference! Four hours earlier, I was in pain, dismayed and crying, wondering if my beautiful daughter would have to go to formula. After 1.5 hours with Michelle, I was smiling and my latching pain was gone. With her observations and subsequent corrections and tips, I had no pain from latching… I was stunned… Michelle’s disposition is warm, friendly and reassuring. Her gentle way, in addition to her vast knowledge base is what I believe makes her so successful and what allows her clients to be successful as well.
4 days post partum I was bawling my eyes out at 3am because the breastfeeding pain was SO intense. Blisters and bleeding were now causing me severe stress and horrendous pain….I’m going to be honest, I didn’t have a lot of hope that I would get improvement. I had never used a lactation consultant before, and so I didn’t know that some of them are total miracle workers! Within 2 days of following [Michelle’s] advice the blisters were healing. Within 4 days the blisters were completely gone and I was nursing…! By day 5 I was actually enjoying watching my sweet baby nurse! Truly, Michelle is gifted in her line of work.
